In this article titled "A Natural Menopause," Medical Herbalist Jo Dunbar writes about natural alternatives to modern medicine's Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) which according to studies "increases the risk of breast cancer by as much as 26%, raises the risk of stroke by 41%, and the risk of heart attack by 29%."

She explains how some natural foods can help protect against Osteoporosis and Cardiac Disease and recommends, in addition to an exercise program, adding to your diet Liquorice root, diary products, kelp, almonds, figs, black grapes, blueberries, blackberries, hawthorn berries, fenugreek, garlic and olive oil.
